Veslefjellet // Forrestadsætra – Grahøgdin loop

A moderate hike starting at the parking place near Forrestad Seter on the Venabygd plateau. Follow the gravel road in northeastern direction along some private cabins. Then walk over the wooden bridge crossing the river to the right. Now you shortly follow the track, signposted with red T-s until you get to an intersection. The main DNT-trail, signposted with red T-s, bends to the right, but you continue on the not any longer marked trail in northeastern direction. Keep on following this path over the endless plateau and with Brennflya first to your left hand side and Veslegråhøg to your right later on. After about 5.5km in total, at the junction behind Veslegråhøg, turn right and follow another path south which coincides with a small river a bit further. You cross this river several times before joining the main DNT-trail again. Turn right on this trail and you will soon pass the Dørfallet waterfall, which can be admired closer by sticking off to the left. Go back to the main trail and follow it until the next junction. Here you turn right towards Veslefjellbua. At the next intersection you can either walk straight on over Veslefjellet mountain (this is the main but steeper trail) or you can turn left to circumpass the mountain on its left side. In the latter case you end up in a cabin field and follow the gravel road downhill until you reach the bridge. Cross it, climb up again until the main road and turn right here to reach the parking place again after just 200m.

Normal fitness required. Only part of this hike is signposted. Suitable for all skill levels. Be prepared for stony/slippery tracks, wetlands and some smaller river crossings. This hike is not recommended in bad visibility.
