Rondane River Lodge is an ideal starting point for cross country skiing. Thanks to our location not far from a main crossroad, you can explore trails in all directions, making it possible to ski in a different setting each day. Ski one day on the rolling plateau of Venabygdsfjellet and the next day in between the steep mountains of the national park.
There is a quite steep cross country trail starting right from the lodge going over Mount Pika to Sollia. Several other, also more easy, options can be found after just a short drive. This includes the famous network of Venabygdsfjellet with over 160km perfectly groomed and snow secure trails. One of the biggest cross country networks in Norway!
Rental of cross country material:
400 NOK for 1 day – 650 NOK for 2 days – 750 NOK for 3 days – 1100 NOK for a whole week
Including waxed skis, poles and shoes.
A pulk or children’s pulk can be rented for 250 NOK per day.
Private 2 hours cross country ski lesson:
Suitable for beginners.
2500 NOK for 1st person + 500 NOK per extra person (max. 4 persons)
Including a short introduction to material, waxing and skiing with an experienced guide. Material can be rented seperately.
Can be booked throughout the winter from Monday to Friday.

Private 1 hour cross country ‘refresher’ ski lesson:
Suitable for those with some previous experience or wanting to improve their technique.
1250 NOK for 1st person + 400 NOK per extra person (max. 4 persons)
