This family friendly one-way hike starts at the goat farm and summer café in Øverdalssætra. Walk in western direction to the first junction and turn right in the direction of Pika. Turn left on the second junction in the direction of Pika/Enden and follow this gravel road for about 15 minutes until there is a smaller path splitting to the right (signposted Pika). Dense forest alternates with open wetlands before you start climbing to the summit of Pika with a big cairn at the very top. Here you can enjoy fantastic views in all directions. Proceed in northern direction to another cairn in the distance while overlooking the highest peaks of Rondane National Park. Follow the small but visible path, flanked with cairns from time to time, downhill until you find the next signposting. Follow it to Enden and descend through the forest again. The path gets steeper and steeper until you reach the valley. Cross the road and turn left to Rondane River Lodge. Now you have deserved some fresh waffles!
Easy to moderate hike with no special requirements. Only partly signposted, so best to double check your location from time to time. Can be slippery after rain.
