Pika // toptour (1157m) from Øverdalssætra

This family friendly loop hike starts at a small parking place where the toll road to Øverdalssætra is going up the mountain. Alternatively you can also drive up the toll road, park the car in the cabin field and shorten the hike with about 2km by doing so. Otherwise you walk the road and go straight through the cabin field until you reach a T-junction where Pika is signposted both to the left and right. Turn left in the direction of Pika/Enden and follow this gravel road for about 15 minutes until there is a smaller path splitting to the right (signposted Pika). Dense forest alternates with open wetlands before you start climbing to the summit of Pika with a big cairn at the very top. Here you can enjoy fantastic views in all directions. Descend the top on the eastside and walk down until you get to the trail which links Rondetunet and Øverdalssætra. Turn right and follow the track which descends in the forest again. There is still one small river to cross before you reach the T-junction again. Same way back to the parking place next to the main road.

Quite easy hike with no special requirements. Only partly signposted, so best to double check your location from time to time. Can be swampy after rain.
