After a tasty breakfast you will meet the backcountry skiing guide. He’s very experienced and handpicks the perfect location for an exciting introduction taking into account your abilities and the weather conditions. The untouched wilderness around Rondane River Lodge is just perfect to be discovered with slightly wider skis which are surprisingly easy to control. The focus is on moving through the deep snow with some up- and downhill sections on the way. So get yourself acquainted with the technique and don’t be limited to stay on groomed trails only. For sure you will feel the ultimate sense of freedom!
On request the backcountry skiing introduction can be extended with an avalanche course. Always dreamed about skiing the powder outside the slopes and want to feel confident? Get yourself familiar with beacon, probe and shovel during and don’t be limited any longer.
Take the chance to participate to a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and sign up for a dogsled safari. Upon arrival at the dogyard, you will be welcomed energetically by your furry friends. After some basic instructions on how to handle the sled(dogs), you set-off for a 15-20km tour through snow covered forests and into the mountains. This is an experience not to be missed.
